Dan Markell has a catalog of songs, as a writer, that includes 25 tunes with the late/great Steve Allen along with dozens of catchy pop/rock & roll numbers. Other co-writers include Dennis Diken (of The Smithereens), Jim Babjak (also of The Smithereens) and Wally Palmar (of The Romantics).

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Dan grew up there and in Colorado Springs where he was lead singer/rhythm guitarist for The Personals...and if you have a copy of the CD that features their Markell-written tracks "KEEPING SECRETS" and "THE OFFER WILL STAND" you've got a rarity on your hands. He currently lives in North Hollywood, California and performs with his band The Uncalled Four.
